    ATAC Learning at Lunch Webinar presented by NJCART Board members
    “Everyone Has A Voice”

    The Richard West Assistive Technology Advocacy Center, provides professional development for those wanting to learn more about AT. A recent webinar focused on AAC entitled “Everyone has a Voice” and was presented by Tracy Lee. Tracy is a SLP/AAC Specialist who supports individuals of all ages and currently, school age children. She discussed consideration for AAC such as goals and implementation, among many other things.

    “Robotics for Students with Significant Disabilities”
    The A. Harry Moore School in Jersey City provided a Learning at Lunch webinar on Robotics for Students with Significant Disabilities. The webinar was presented by Stephanie Talalai, Patricia Holzman, and Wendy Thompson. All three are doctoral students and also work to students who attend A. Harry Moore School.

    ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION!

    The Family Center on Technology and Disability (FCTD) and PACER Center are pleased to announce the release of our new assistive technology awareness series, AT in Action. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), this fully-captioned video series is designed to strengthen awareness of AT devices that help individuals with disabilities participate fully in school, at home, and in the community.

    In this video, you’ll meet Mason, a young boy with vision loss who, with the help of AT, is able to learn reading and writing in the same classroom as his sighted peers. We invite you to view and share this video with your colleagues and the families you serve.
